This is the only album by this five-piece group from New York City at the end of the 1960s. Recorded at Ultra Sonic Studios, familiar to many of you from Vanilla Fudge and Iron Butterfly. Backed by a heavy rhythm section led by a Hammond organ, the hard rock songs are emotionally charged with soul/R&B covers by Otis Redding, Ben E. King, James Brown, and others. On the other hand, the band could also easily play jazzy tunes, and it is a shame that they disappeared after only one album. (C)RS
