Description:

Treasure Ark, a series that selects high-quality live recordings! This is the July 21, 1982 Montreal show from the troubled "Hot Space" tour. The July 21, 1982 Montreal show was recorded from the "Hot Space Tour" in 1982, when the band was at its most energetic as a live band. When we think of Queen in Japan, we tend to think that the 70's was the heyday of Queen because of their popularity in Japan in the early stage of their career and because lyrical songs such as "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Killer Queen" are to Japanese tastes, but Queen's worldwide popularity peaked in the 70's. However, Queen's worldwide popularity peaked in 1980, when "Another One Bites The Dust" became a No. 1 hit in the U.S., and was popular on the black charts as disco music. This hit was followed by "The Game Tour," the largest tour to date, and the instrumental soundtrack album "Flash Gordon" (1980), and then "Hot Space" (1982).Featuring brass and synth bass, the album pursued the Queen style of dance music, but it was controversial among fans and did not sell well. However, the live performances during this period were the best. Brian's guitar, which was not so prominent on the recordings, was played with great energy and charm, which was completely different from the studio recordings. The North American leg of the tour, especially in the middle of the tour, was the peak of the band's popularity in North America, and the "Hot Space Tour" was highly acclaimed among the fans. The selection of six songs each from "The Game" and "Hot Space" is also unique to this period. Speaking of Montreal, the 1981 show in Montreal, the year before the tour, was officially released, and this dance lineup may have been a good match for Canadian fans. The band's momentum can be felt at this show.
