Peter Galway sings Lola, two friends since the end of the 60s. Two souls cross paths again, transcending time and space, and sparking quietly. (Peter Galway, who the Boston Globe calls "a master of free verse," has released more than 25 albums on Warner/Reprise and various independent labels. A founding member of the Fifth Avenue Band, his albums cover a variety of styles from '60s rock 'n' roll to "jazzy folk" to fantastically comfortable Americana. In addition to his solo work, he also performs as the duo Hat Check Girl with Annie Gallop and as Parker Gray with British keyboardist Harvey Jones.Peter Galway has produced over 50 albums and special projects, including the Grammy-nominated Bleecker Street: Greenwich Village in the '60s and Time and Love: The Music of Laura Nyro. He also participated in Laura Nyro's last album, Angel In the Dark. He has also worked on projects for singer/songwriter Cliff Everhart, Annie Gallop, Louise Taylor, Aztec Two Step, Wendy Beckerman, and Japanese Bread and Butter. His music has been featured in film and theater, performed and recorded by Bette Midler, Kenny Rogers, Cliff Everhart, Bread & Butter, and Kalapana.Now, all of the songs on this album are from Laura Nyro's first three albums, More Than a New Discovery (1967), Eli and the 13th Penance (1968), and New York Tenderberries (1969). All of these works would have been musically sympathetic to Peter from the time of their release. Three songs, "Time and Love," "New York Tendaberry," and "Mercy on Broadway," were previously included as domestic bonus tracks on the 2017 album, but have been updated. In addition, "Save The Country" was additionally recorded as a bonus track for this domestic edition.
