The Who

Description:

Lenox, Massachusetts, USA, during the period between two live recordings, "Live at Leeds" and the later discovered "Isle of Wight Live 1970," in 1970, when The Who were on tour performing all the songs from their masterpiece "Tommy," which established their style as a rock opera, Tanglewood Music Center, Lenox, Massachusetts, USA. Although several live recordings from this tour have been officially released, they have tended to be criticized for various reasons, such as equipment problems and rough performances. This is a recording of a performance that is said to be very fulfilling in terms of performance, and the sound quality is perfect, offering a very dynamic, powerful, and thrilling performance. It is a must have for fans of the band. Live at Leeds," released in May 1970, was the first to show the Who as a rough, powerful, and tough live band, a side of the band that had not been fully expressed in previous studio releases. The Tanglewood concert was held about two months after the release of "It's A Live At Leeds," so listeners must have had high expectations for the show. The show featured It's a Beautiful Day and Jethro Tull in the front row.The setlist was slightly changed from "Live at Leeds" with "Tommy" at the center, and the content was almost similar to that of "Isle of Wight". However, compared to "Isle of Wight," which had various troubles, the performance was much more fulfilling, and it is a sound source that really conveys the greatness of the Who band. The band starts with "Heaven And Hell" sung by John Entwistle as in "Live At Leeds," but it is interesting to note that many B-side songs from the original album, such as "Water" and "I Don't Even Know Myself," are also performed. Including these points, this is a live recording with a truly British charm.
