Hakuei Kim (p), Tomokazu Sugimoto (b), Tamaya Honda (ds) - The first album by BCG REPUBLIC, a piano trio of top jazz players, is now available. The album contains a total of 8 original pieces, mostly first takes, without any one-shot recording, editing, or dubbing. The trio's raw, powerful, and top-notch performances are the result of improvisation, interplay, and being freed from the constraints of time and tempo, and can only be produced by this trio. Led by Hakuei Kim (p), Tomokazu Sugimoto (b), and Tamaya Honda (ds), the piano trio BCG REPUBLIC was formed in December 2020 at the Corona Disaster. The album title means "Time Is On Our Side. The free performance, free from the constraints of "time" in terms of time and tempo, is created through the exchange of each other's sounds and momentary flashes of inspiration. Beyond that, the "treasure hunt" for a sense of climax, as if freely manipulating "time and space," is the true essence of this trio.Here is music that only they can create, a fusion of beautiful melodies that bring to mind scenes that only Hakuei Kim can create, and raw, powerful performances that cannot be obtained in a scheduled harmony. The album was completed with the support of a strong team, including Kenichi Tateiwa of basis records as director/supervisor, and we hope you will listen to it while on a treasure hunt.
