She won first place nationwide in the junior high school division of the 35th All-Japan Student Music Competition. At Toho Gakuen University, she studied under the late Hidemitsu Hayashi and the late Kiyoko Tanaka. She won second place and the Kawai Prize at the 58th Japan Music Competition. She has performed with the Kansai Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Kazuhiko Komatsu, the New Philharmonic Chiba conducted by Hideaki Muto, and the Tokyo City Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Hiroshi Koizumi at the Spring Tokyo Citizens’ Concert in the Grand Hall of the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan. After moving to Germany, he furthered his studies under B. Gremzer at the Saarbrücken State University of Music. Following awards at the Maria Canals International Music Competition and the European Chopin International Competition, among others, he has been actively performing in recitals and making broadcast recordings throughout the region. Even after returning to Japan in 1997, having earned the German State Artist qualification with top honors, he has been frequently invited back to Germany for events such as the “Chopin Anniversary Memorial Recital” hosted by the German Chopin Society and the society’s 30th-anniversary concert. He performed with the New Japan Philharmonic, conducted by Yoshikazu Tanaka, at the 17th Yokohama City Invitational International Piano Concert, and received the 30th Japan Chopin Society Award for his performance of Chopin’s works at a recital in 2003. Currently, centered around recitals held every two years in Hamamatsu and Tokyo, he maintains a diverse range of activities, including chamber music performances with renowned musicians both in Japan and abroad, as well as collaborations with orchestras. He captivates fans with his sincere approach to the works and his dynamic yet delicate musical world. Since 2015, he has served as a part-time lecturer at Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts and Music. Regulus
