Following Handel's Recorder Sonatas and French Recorder Music, this third album is a collection of recorder works by five composers who were active in Venice, the artistic and cultural center of the 17th and 18th centuries, and whose works colored the musical culture of Venice around the time of Vivaldi. The CD is the crystallization of Yoriko Kakihara's knowledge and skills acquired through her research of the "Fontegarra", an instructional book written during the Renaissance period that greatly influenced later recorder playing methods of the Baroque period, and other literature on recorder playing techniques of the Baroque era. This recording also features the two musicians who performed together on the previous CD, creating an exquisite ensemble. Regulus
