Blue Oyster Cult, a hard rock band from New York City, has completed a new album, "Ghost Stories," and their debut in 1972 was followed by a number of classic albums, including "Occult Manifesto" (1974), "Hell's Roar" (a 1975 live release), and "The Tarot's Curse" (1976). Their last album, "The Symbol Remains" (2020), was their first studio album release in 19 years and was highly acclaimed by fans, marking their return to the scene in earnest. Last year, "50th Anniversary Live - First Night" (2023) was released to commemorate the 50th anniversary of their debut, featuring a complete recreation of their debut album and hit songs, along with a performance in their hometown of New York City. Four years since their last studio album, "Ghost Stories" is composed of a wide range of songs, from hard rock numbers with the band's distinctive eerie atmosphere as before, to melancholy ballads. It also includes a cover of The Beatles' "If You Fall in Love" (1964).Produced as they celebrate their 50th anniversary and reflect on their own musicality and bands that have influenced them, the result is a modern, updated version of Blue Oyster Cult's quintessential work.
