ANNIHILATOR, a veteran Canadian thrash metal band, has re-recorded their 2007 album, "Metal", with a cast of splendid guests, and has renamed it "Metal II". The members of the "Metal" album are leader Jeff Waters, Dave Padden, then vocalist of ANNIHILATOR, and Mike Mangini, former ANNIHILATOR and current drummer of DREAM THEATER, as well as Aleksi Laiho, Jeff Loomis, and Michael Lummis. The album was produced by a number of well-known guests in Japan, such as Jeff Loomis, Michael Amott, Angela Gossow, Jesper Stromblad, and others. Despite the "metal" nature of the album, Jeff had a few complaints about it. I was always disappointed with some aspects of the record. The production, some of the performances could have been better," he said. And now, after almost 15 years, the opportunity has finally presented itself. Metal II" features Jeff Waters as well as Stu Block, formerly of Iced Earth and now of Into-Eternity, on vocals, and Dave Lombardo, formerly of SLAYER, on drums.This thrash metal album proves that even though it is a re-recording album, it is possible to enjoy a different sharpness and intensity from the original album with different members. The guests who participated in each song on the previous album are the same, but "Metal" and "Metal II" are in a different order, and Van Halen's cover "Romeo Delight" is included (instead of "Operation Annihilation" from the previous album), which also gives a different impression from the previous album. The album has already been released with Downright Dominate's new album. A new version of "Downright Dominate" has already been cut as a single, which gives us a glimpse of this album. The album is dedicated to two of Jeff's favorite guitarists, Edward Van Halen, who recently passed away, and Alexi Laiho, who played on Downright Dominate.
