The band SHINING BLACK was founded by Mark Boles, who has performed with YNGWIE MALMSTEEN'S RISING FORCE and many other bands from the 80's to the present, and Olaf Thorsen, a guitarist who has been active as the brain of VISION DIVINE/LABYRINTH, an Italian melodic metal band that is very popular in Japan. The band SHINING BLACK, which was founded by guitarist Olaf Thorsen, who plays as Brain in the Italian melodic metal band VISION DIVINE/LABYRINTH, which is also popular in Japan, is now back in action after a lapse of two years. The long-awaited second album is now complete. Inheriting the taste of their debut album, which was highly acclaimed for its concentration of veteran musicianship, this album is even more profound, emotional, and melodic than the previous one, and has a style that makes listeners want to hear more. Olaf Thorsen once said of SHINING BLACK: "This band is a power metal band. Olaf Thorsen has also previously said of SHINING BLACK: "This band is not a power metal band, so I don't know how to name the music we play, and I always found it difficult to name the music I write. I don't know if it fits in this case, but I guess you could say we play melodic, slow, kind of "heavy melodic rock". I think there are some elements of AOR in there too (forgive me if I don't think so. But you can feel that from the songs on the album).So if everyone sees LABYRINTH and VISION DIVINE as "cousins," then SHINING BLACK is a completely different band musically."
