Peter Yablonsky, who has been performing on the world stage since his teens and has continued to amaze music fans, is now in his 40s and is entering a period of artistic maturity as a pianist. As heard on the “Complete Prokofiev Piano Sonatas” released by the Triton label in 2007, Yablonsky’s unique touch and robust sense of rhythm are unmatched by any other pianist. Furthermore, the sweet and delicate sensibility he occasionally reveals captivates the listener’s heart. For this album, Yablonsky has selected works by F. Liszt—composers he adores—which he has been including in his concert programs for the past few years. This album allows listeners to fully savor the musicality he has developed over the past few years. Of particular note is “Isolde’s Love Death.” He performed this piece at his 2006 recital in Tokyo, where he was highly acclaimed for his piano playing that overwhelmed the audience. A piece that cannot be mastered by technical skill alone, he performs it masterfully with his innate sense of rhythm, beautiful touch, and a powerful musicality that stirs from the depths of his soul. Additionally, pieces such as the “Lakozzi March” and the “Ballade” showcase Yablonsky’s pianism at its finest.
