The first release in the series, Symphony No. 6, came out in February 2000 and drew significant attention at the time for its powerful emotional expression within a fresh, vibrant musical sound. Furthermore, the orchestra’s precise technique and ensemble playing were highly praised by music critics across the board. Eleven years later, in 2011, the release of Symphony No. 4 marked the completion of the series, resulting in a magnificent complete collection that captures the remarkable growth of this duo. During this time, Numajiri held key positions with various orchestras in Japan, significantly advancing his career, while the orchestra members—who had been young when the ensemble was formed—were invited to serve as principal players in major Japanese orchestras and have become central figures in the Japanese orchestral scene. As the ensemble gained more experience, the name T-M-P became widely recognized alongside its musical prowess. The Symphony No. 4 included in this release fully capitalizes on that experience, offering a dynamic, vibrant performance with a rich, full-bodied sound. While Numajiri brings every nuanced detail of his interpretation to life, the duo’s unique chemistry allows the music to resonate with even greater dynamism and grandeur.
