The duo of Kyoko Takemoto, a pianist of rare romanticism, and Ryoichi Fujimori, principal cellist of the NHK Symphony Orchestra, will perform a collection of Brahms' sonatas. In their two previous well-received albums, "Chopin: Piano and Cello Works" (OVCL-00373) and "Passionato: Works by Rachmaninoff and Piazzolla" (OVCL-00408), the two had been enhancing each other's musicality and exploring their potential as an ensemble. With these two Brahms cello sonatas, they have further sublimated their achievements. Fujimori's noble cello and Takemoto's introspective and deeply passionate piano beautifully portray the character of the works and the sublimity of the two ensembles. The deep timbre and natural dynamics of the DSD recordings are in master quality itself, with the HQ-Hybrid version produced in SACD stereo uncompressed data.
