THEFUZZACT, a band that has steadily made its mark on the music scene through a combination of highly polished songs and an overwhelming live presence, has announced the release of their new album, *Afternoon of a Gunfight*! A three-piece rock band consisting of vocalist and guitarist Shunsuke Tokunaga, bassist Shinya Kato, and drummer Shun Morizono. To date, they have released three singles and five albums, including a mini-album. They have been actively performing, touring various regions—primarily the Kanto area—and hosting numerous live shows and headlining concerts. In April 2023, with music writer and producer Yukio Iwata serving as producer and guitarist Takumi Kikuchi (Zunou Keisatsu, among others) as sound producer, they released their first full-length album under their current lineup, *Signal from the Calm Zone*, on CD and LP. Since then, they have steadily increased their presence on the live scene, and on July 8, 2026, they released their second full-length album under this lineup, *An Afternoon of Gunfire*. Following the previous album, Takumi Kikuchi handled sound production. In addition to a wide variety of songs with a rich, heavy sound, the album features numerous unexpected tracks while retaining the same intensity that has defined THEFUZZACT. With the exception of a few tracks, the drums, bass, and rhythm guitar were recorded in a single take without a metronome. It is an album that captures the band’s current momentum. The cover art for this album was created by graphic designer and illustrator Takoyama Yamamoto, who has worked on cover art and illustrations for GUITARMAGAZINE, as well as artist merchandise and flyer designs.
