Less than a year after their last release, they’re dropping their third album on Sub Pop—and their fifth overall—titled *Every Single Muscle*. The Bug Club is back with a new album. It’s been a mere seven months since their previous release, *Very Human Features*. Where have they been? *Every Single Muscle*, the band’s fifth album overall, is their third release on Sub Pop, the Seattle-based label that holds the Welsh duo in high regard. The album kicks off at full throttle with the powerful “MissWales2012.” This is the first of many tracks under two minutes, hinting that *EverySingleMuscle* will be their most punk-inspired work to date. The album features a total of 18 tracks. It is packed with classic guitar interplay between Sam Willmett and Tilly Harris—enough to satisfy even the most die-hard The Bug Club fans—completely overturning their self-deprecating claim that their “instrumental skills are just so-so.” While their previous work excelled at pointing out the absurdity of everyday objects, *EverySingleMuscle* delves deeper into self-reflection. That said, it feels less like introspection and more like an alien dissecting a captured specimen on an intergalactic stretcher.
