The third volume of "While We're Dead," a compilation album by KiliKiliVilla, which celebrates its 11th anniversary this year, features new breath from 13 artists, mainly newcomers who are making their mark in various parts of Japan, blending beautifully with the atmosphere of KiliKiliVilla, and offering a journey of anticipation for future encounters. This is a work that travels, filled with anticipation for future encounters. This is the third compilation following "While We're Dead: The First Year," which set the direction of the label in 2015, and "While We're Dead 2," which was produced in 2022 as part of a crowdfunding campaign to support Kirikiri Villa. This compilation features 13 artists of the new generation from the Kanto region, Hokkaido, Tohoku, Northern Kanto, Kansai, and Kyushu, all of which have new values and their own conflicts, and all of which are transmitting their sounds in their own unique local moods. The lineup includes a wide variety of songs, mainly newly recorded songs.PUNK, INDIE ROCK, DANCE MUSIC...etc. KIRIKIRIVILLA, which has been releasing music from its own perspective and has accumulated a catalog of nearly 200 titles in its 11th year, has recorded the label's current status here with the commemorative item number "KKV-200". The album features continuous melodic punk full of energy that seems to herald a new beginning, quietly sharpened and profound alternative rock, sturdy UK rock with a singing heart on its side, and beat music full of friendship that connects daily parties and everyday life. Swimming in the floating and slumbering soundscapes, enthralled by guitar phrases that traverse genres with ease, you find yourself repeating over and over again the hardcore and rugged, romantic rock and roll that buzzes as if picking up spilled youth. With the ease with which artists can now transmit and access their music around the world, there's probably only so much an indie label can do. We have no desire to do anything too crazy.Still, I just want to keep encountering wonderful music that gives me a miraculous view in my daily life, or a wonderful time that is a little bit out of the ordinary. If this compilation album could meet someone somewhere and create something like a tiny little swell - nothing would make me happier.
