Two years after her acclaimed last album, her second album, "Below A Massive Dark Land," produced mainly by herself, is released on Sub Pop. British singer-songwriter Naima Bock's second album, Below A Massive Dark Land, is composed of powerful and purposeful arrangements featuring a large number of musicians, and is filled with enveloping space and warm light, but the songwriting process was mostly It was a solitary process.And for those who have seen Naima perform since the release of their 2022 debut, Giant Palm, which was undoubtedly a collaborative experience, this will come as a surprise. But there is power in solitude. Giant Palm was arranged with collaborator Joel Burton, but in working alone on it in search of something truly his own, Naima realized that he was capable of much more than he knew.Below A Massive Dark Land was primarily produced by Jack Osborne (Bingo Fury) and Joe Jones and recorded at The Crypt in North London. Additional production and arrangements were done by Oliver Hamilton (caroline, Shovel Dance Collective) and Naima herself. Six of the songs were mixed by Jason Agel and the rest by Osborne Jones. The album was mastered by Kevin Tuffy.
