The 12-track The album seamlessly blends Irish and English, satire and socially conscious lyrics, and is intensely intelligent, consistently buoyant and boisterous, and truly thought-provoking. There is a cry from the all too underprivileged north of Ireland, and they speak to us in a language that is too often ignored: when KNEECAP entered the studio with Toddla T in the summer of 2023, they immediately set about preparing what they had already prepared for the album they were about to record and everything they had already prepared for the album they were about to record. Instead, they decided to build a pub together. When we went into the studio, we scrapped everything we had and started completely from scratch.T he idea was to tell the story of KNEECAP. So the record was created with the concept of the listener stepping into the world of KNEECAP. So the idea was to set the whole thing in a pub. At the beginning, you walk into a pub, someone offers you a drink, there's singing.... It's really like we're taking you by the hand and leading you into our world," says Mo Chara, whose KNEECAP is a trio of Mo Chara, Moglai Bap, and DJ Provai that recently released a self-titled semi-biographical film directed by Rich Peppiatt, starring Michael Fassbender. The self-titled semi-biographical film took the Sundance Film Festival by storm this year.
