The approach to Tarantula Heart was different from any other Melvins album: we had Dale and Roy Mayorga (Ministry) come in and play riffs with Steven (McDonald) and myself. Then, based on that session, we figured out which parts would work and wrote new songs to fit them. This is different from the way I've always done it. Recorded, mixed, and co-produced by Melvins' longtime collaborator Toshi Kasai, the album also features We Are The Gary Chester, guitarist for Asteroid, was once a member of the legendary Ed Hall, so his history with the Melvins goes back to their days at Boner Records.
