Working Men's Club, a four-piece band led by Sid Minsky Sargent, hails from West Yorkshire, England. After two years since their critically acclaimed debut album, Working Men's Club will release their second album, Fear Fear, on July 15, 2022 via Heavenly Recordings. Fear Fear is a record made for agitation and dance, heart and soul, now and tomorrow, exploring the juxtaposition of life and death, acceptance and isolation, environment and humanity, hope and despair, the real world and the digital world. It was also made with a rigorous and complete vision, making it a surprisingly unique work of art.The band's critically acclaimed self-titled debut album, released in 2020, is by singer/songwriter Syd Minsky-Sargeant, It was the sound that summed up his teenage life in Todmorden in the Upper Calder Valley. He was 16 when he wrote some of the songs on the record; now he was 20 and had to leave the Valley.Says Syd, "The first is a personal document, but the second is a mixture of personal and third-party perspectives." Fear Fear is a record of the last two years. There is an atmosphere of bleakness, but there is also hope and empathy. I like the contrast between the happy, uplifting music and the darker lyrics. Compared to its predecessor, this is not a minimalist album. That's because there was a lot more to say," he adds. Fear Fear was produced by Ross Orton (Arctic Monkeys, MIA, Tricky). It was recorded at his studio in Sheffield.
