Historic recordings from the night before the Allman Brothers Band on cassette tape! Very rare first recording of the Allman Brothers' signature song "Melissa"! Butch Trucks, who later became the drummer of the Allman Brothers Band, guitarist/singer/songwriter Butch Trucks, who played in the legendary 70's Southern Rock band, COWBOY, which was covered by Clapton and played on Capricorn Records by the Allmans. The 31st of February was a rock trio formed by Scott Boyer, a singer/songwriter, and David Brown, a bassist who also played in Boz Scaggs' band, Cowboy, when they were students. ), a rock trio formed by bassist David Brown and his friends in their college days. Some say that the album was intended to be released as the second album of The 31st of February, but since Gregg Allman sang lead vocals on most of the songs, it was released in 1972 under the name "Duane and Gregg Allman" on the T.K. subsidiary Bold label. Bold label.The best part is that this is the first recording of "Melissa" from the classic album "Eat A Peach" (1972) by the Allman Brothers Band after Duane's death. Also included is Duane Allman's re-recording of "Nobody Knows You're Here, You're Down And Out" from Clapton's masterpiece "My Cousin Leila", which is often called Clapton's best work, and "Morning Dew", a song also covered by the Grateful Dead and Jeff Beck.
