Drugdealer is the project of Michael Collins, a member of the Los Angeles psychedelic scene, and produces classic modern pop reminiscent of the sounds of Laurel Canyon in the 70s. Michael Collins started out as a lo-fi psychedelic project called Run DMT, later changing the project name to Salvia Plath. He took a more folky approach and started Drugdealer, pursuing a singer-songwriter sound of the early 70s under the influence of soft rock pioneers such as Harry Nilsson and Steely Dan. In 2016, Drugdealer released their debut album, The End Of Comedy, on Domino-owned Weird World. The album featured guest appearances by Ariel Pink, Weyes Blood, Sheer Agony, and others. After the release, Michael Collins put together a band for live performances. With its core members Benjamin Schwab (G), Sasha Winn (Vo), Josh Da Costa (Dr), Shags Chamberlain (B), and others, he began recording his second album "Raw Honey".Weyes Blood, Brian D'Addario and Michael D'Addario of Lemon Twigs, Dougie Poole, Harley HillRichmond, and others guest on Raw Honey, which will be released on Mexican Summer in April 2019.
