Bob Marley & The Wailers

Description:

Bob Marley's rare collection of early sound recordings is now available! Included are rare works produced under the production of Lee Perry and Bunny Lee! The booklet is filled with rare photos of Bob Marley taken by photographer Arthur Gorson, who was allowed to take photos of Bob Marley at the time, making this compilation a must-have for fans! In July 1973, Rolling Stone magazine published an article by Michael Thomas and photographs by Arthur Gorson on the vibrant Jamaican music scene. Rolling Stone Magazine published "The Wild Side of Paradise," a vibrant article on Jamaican music with commentary by Michael Thomas and photographs by Arthur Gorson. For this article, the two traveled to Jamaica and immersed themselves in the local music. There they met a young Bob Marley, 28 years old, before his European tour. The Wild Side of Paradise", published by Rolling Stone magazine in 1973, marked a turning point for the magazine. Until then, Jamaican music had been unfamiliar to the West. With the help of Island Record's Chris Blackwell, Thomas and Gorson were able to create a new album, "The Wild Side of Paradise," which was to be a major turning point for the magazine. Gorson spent time with Bob Marley. The cover of this compilation is one of the photos taken at that time." The Wild Side of Paradise" was the first to feature Jamaican music and introduce reggae to the world. This article was the basis for the book "Babylon On A Thin Wire" which Thomas later collaborated with Adrian Boot on. Of course, Bob Marley was active before 1973. Since the early 60's, Bob Marley has been a member of The Wailers and has produced some excellent work. This compilation is a selection of songs from the good old days when Bob Marley worked with producers Lee Perry and Bunny Lee and record labels like Wisdom and Long Long Winter during the 60s and 70s. The music is fresh and pure, with beautiful melodies from the genius of Bob Marley that will stick in your ears once you hear it." The collection includes such early classics as "Duppy Conqueror" and "Caution," the less well-known but still wonderful "Wisdom" and "Long Long Winter," "Trench Town" and "Rock," which would later be released on Island Record, as well as "Trench Town" and "The Rise and Fall of the Trench Town," which would later become the best-selling album of the year on the Island Record label. The album also includes the originals of "Trench Town Rock" and "Concrete Jungle," both of which would later be released on Island Record. Roots of Revolution. The best songs from the late 1960s to the early 1970s, when Bob Marley was working with producers Bunny Lee and Lee Perry, before the publication of Rolling Stone magazine's "The Wild Side of Paradise" feature that made Bob Marley a household name in 1973. The songs are arranged chronologically with commentary by French journalist Vincent Tarriere and photographs by Arthur Gorson.
