This program features a diverse selection of pieces from various countries, making for a truly rewarding listening experience. Performed by Ryukoku University’s orchestra, the performance features a beautiful symphonic sound—so vivid you can almost hear the strings resonating—and a wide range of expressive nuances. The guest artist was Kazuaki Kikumoto, principal trumpet of the NHK Symphony Orchestra. He performed Hummel’s concerto with compelling beauty and a pure, unadorned tone. You can also enjoy his captivating tone in the encore pieces, “Hideyoshi” and “Amapola.” In addition to Music Director Yoshito Wakabayashi, clarinetist Tomohiro Kodama also participated as a conductor in this recording.
