Needless to say, their annual achievements in commissioning composers have been highly acclaimed, expanding the possibilities of wind music in Japan. In this collection of 11 commissioned works by the ensemble, the members of the Yamaha Symphonic Band portray to perfection the world of a Japanese composer full of individuality in a variety of formations. In addition to popular composers Toshio Majima, Jun Nagao, Soichi Konagaya, and Fumio Tamura, the ensemble also includes a variety of works by up-and-coming young composer Miho Hasama and "Luna," which won the gold prize at the National Ensemble Contest.
