The second live album is a LIVE album! The second volume is a LIVE album! The following year, I recorded "introducing MS2B vol.1". In the liner notes, I wrote that I wanted to record a second and third album, but this second album was the last CD by this group. It has been four years since I first heard them live, and three years since the first recording. Only three or four years. Still, I am amazed at how much their sound has changed. There has been a change of members in bass and trumpet, but I don't think it is simply because of that. Their sound has become more mellow and smooth compared to their early years. Ensemble is a strange thing. Subtle timing, subtle strengths and weaknesses are reflected realistically. You cannot create a comfortable ensemble by mechanically timing and adjusting. And the more instruments you have, the more difficult it will be to create a good ensemble.MS2B is a septet with four winds. Naturally, it is difficult to create a cohesive sound. Listening to this performance, the beauty of the ensemble is remarkable. I was struck by the maturity of the band's sound in just three or four years. Perhaps it is the result of young energy. I can't help but wonder what the future holds for the band. However, MS2B has decided to disband after this album. It is a pity, but this is the fate of any jazz band, and the members will continue to be active in their own ways in the future. The first trumpeter, Yusuke Sase, is now very popular and active, and I have no doubt that the other members who are graduating from MS2B will also be very active.
