Description:
This is a collection of famous Showa theme songs that symbolize the "spirit" and identity of the Showa era. The collection includes "a hybrid of East and West," "a sound that makes Japan proud," "modern Japan as seen through the leading actors of the Showa era," and "what have the Japanese lost in the face of a man who was magnificent, dynamic, and sensitive, and who surely existed only a short time ago? This album features the theme songs of films starring attractive leading Japanese actors, interwoven with the DTM music of Yosuke Yamashita, a leading Japanese pianist, and Shinji Akita, a pianist who is leading the next generation. For this project, Yamashita and Akita arranged and recorded the music based on the musical score written by composer Masaru Sato (composer for "Seven Samurai": Fumio Hayasaka/arranger: Masaru Sato), which was discovered in a warehouse of Toho Co.
