Norway's leading veteran singer, Karyn Krogh's new 2015 release is a long-awaited collection of standards with Steve Kuehn, Eric Alexander, Lou Soloff, and other talented musicians. With a voice as deep and clear as the Scandinavian air, she covers Michel Legrand, Bob Dorough, and jazz standards with elegance. The 14 tracks are mainly duo recordings, with Eric Alexander (ts) on three tracks, Lou Soloff (tp, flh) on two tracks, and both of them on one track. As avid Kühn fans may have noticed, Kühn backed male singer Philip Weiss on his 2004 album YOU MUST BELIEVE IN SPRING, which also featured Alexander and Soloff. Considering their history of collaboration and the A-Un-like musicianship between Carlin and Kuehn, it is not surprising that the session was completed in two days. ～Carlin, who was 76 years old at the time of recording, and Kuehn, who was 75 years old at the time of recording, never knew decline.Their one-and-only performance brought a new dawn to the Jazz Giants and their evergreen masterpieces.
