Black Country New Road, highly acclaimed and popular for its one-of-a-kind ensemble of fragility and strength, releases its latest album in 2025! Black Country New Road (BC,NR), a highly acclaimed and popular ensemble with a unique combination of fragility and strength, is releasing its long-awaited third album "Forever Howlong" on the Ninja Tune label! In 2021, the band's debut album "For the first time" reached #4 in the UK charts and was nominated for the Mercury Prize, followed by their second album "Ants From Up There" which reached #3 in the U.K. In 2023, the band released "Live at Bush Hall", a live album consisting entirely of new songs. In 2023, BC,NR released "Live at Bush Hall", a live album of only new songs, proving the band's cohesion and evolution, and now, with their third album, they have once again broken new musical ground. With James Ford as producer, BC,NR is taking on a new formative challenge, as he has been involved in the creation of numerous masterpieces by Arctic Monkeys, Gorillaz, Beth Gibbons, Depeche Mode, Fontaines D.C., and many others. The three female members, Tyler Hyde, Georgia Ellery, and Mae Kershaw, share lead vocals and songwriting on most of the songs. Georgia says, "Having three women singing on the album gave the album a consistent theme," and "the addition of a female perspective made it a completely different album from 'Ants From Up There. I think the music itself was influenced by that." Even in an ever-changing environment, they have flexibly adapted to overcome difficulties, built a strong unity, and continued to evolve.Comprised of classically trained and self-taught musicians, BC,NR's singular talents gained stage experience in the late 2010s at The Windmill, a musical mecca in South London's indie rock scene, alongside the likes of Black Midi and Squid, The band was hailed as "the best band in the world" by The Quietus magazine. The album "Forever Howlong" incorporates a diverse range of genres, including folk, progressive rock, baroque pop, and alternative rock, and reflects a wide range of musical influences, from Joanna Newsom and Randy Newman to Fiona Apple and Janis Ian. Yet through it all, BC,NR's unique and original sound remains unwavering, and the three members' different voices and styles are fused into a unified and focused new collective music.
