Description:

Seven of Stereolab's studio albums are being reissued in 2LP editions that faithfully reproduce the original source material! A limited number of these albums will also be available with Japanese-language obi! Seven of Stereolab's studio albums are being reissued in new 2LP editions by Duophonic UHF Disks / Warp Records! This release features remastered material that was released in an expanded edition in 2019. In addition, the high quality of the music was cut by Beau Condren (Calyx Mastering) from the original 1/2" tapes and supervised by Tim Gaine. Each album is packaged in a single 5mm wide sleeve and a printed inner sleeve with a protective PVC outer bag. Each album will also be released in a limited quantity with a Japanese wraparound obi! A masterpiece loved by the ages. With producers John McEntire (Tortoise) and Andy Toma (Mouse on Mars), this is a must-listen album with a diversity unrivaled in its time. Listening to "Dots and Loops," it seems unlikely that any other album in the history of popular music has been as beloved as this one. The High Llamas' Sean O'Hagan and Markus Holderway, who created rare chamber pop music under the tutelage of The Beach Boys, and John McEntire and Douglas McCombs of Tortoise, a rock band that led the post-rock movement, are among the musicians who showed their talent at a breakneck pace in the 1990s and changed the times. The album is also very 90's in its functionality as easy listening, lounge/mondo music that would later influence the Shibuya-kei area in Japan, and the fact that it is the first Stereolab album to be made using a computer. This album is a fine pop album. While clad in the garb of fine pop music, the musical elements and contexts of this album are unparalleled in their diversity.Dots and Loops" is too beloved of its time, and because it is, it is a timeless masterpiece.
