The Kills, the band that redefined rock in the 21st century, released their sixth studio album, "God Games," on Domino Records. The 12 songs on the new God Games album proudly proclaim that Allison Mosshart and Jamie Hince have perfected a new sound that is both hypnotic and propulsive, while retaining its seductive majesty. Whereas "New York" was an explosion of The Kills' character with its addictive guitar riffs and Mosshart's iconic voice, "LA Hex" showed their commitment to a new sound, layering distorted trumpets over a glitchy, seductive beat. The title of the new song, "103," refers to 103 degrees Fahrenheit, and through the lens of a dark and twisted love song, the song is about a cruel reality that has become difficult to even inhabit.And the music video, shot in the studio of renowned rock/fashion photographer Stephen Sebring, captures The Kills in the chaos of mid-summer heat under a glorious sun with angry expressions on their faces. God Games" is centered around a call-and-response between Allison's full-bodied vocals and Jamie's guillotine-sharp, smooth-edged guitar. This album was created from a new perspective in order to expand the boundaries of their signature sound. Composed primarily on piano for the first time, the innovative electronic sounds, brass textures, precision production, and deeply human lyrics add a special charm. It also features the Compton Kids Club Choir on "LA Hex" and "My Girls My Girls". The writing process started as far back as 2019, when he was The Kills' first soundman in 2002, and later became a big name working with Adele and Paul McCartney, and then at an old church with top producer Paul Epworth, who also won an Academy Award and a Grammy at the Camping.The Kills have racked up hundreds of millions of streaming views on such albums as 2003's "Keep On Your Mean Side," 2005's "No Wow," 2008's "Midnight Boom," and 2011's "Blood Pressures"; 2016's " Ash & Ice" has been hailed as a career best and songs like "Doing It To Death" and "Heart of a Dog" have become new fan favorites. Also in 2020, the band released "Little Bastards," a compilation of B-sides and rare recordings. In 2023, the Kills finally reached new heights with their latest album, "God Games," which will add another classic to their illustrious discography. The domestic CD edition of "God Games" will include additional bonus tracks, a manual, and a bilingual lyricist's guide. The domestic CD will also be available as a set with a T-shirt!
