Marking their 10th anniversary, this is Leila’s first full-length album, which represents a new chapter for the band. The album kicks off with “lonely,” a short track with a sharp, edgy sound that’s the perfect start to this 10-track full-length album. It flows into “Nan demo nai,” featuring a guitar riff that seems to build on the phrase from “lonely” and a heavy beat, which then leads into “Re:,” where arpeggios and tapping intertwine beautifully. Next comes “Recent Big News,” now a staple of Leila’s solo live shows in Ariake, followed by “juice,” featuring sweet-and-sour lyrics that evoke the sensation of popping the tab on a carbonated drink in the height of summer. From “Fallinlove,” which captivates with its beautiful vocal melody and airy sound, to “howare?,” which depicts the smoldering frustrations of everyday life following a traditional intro, the album stands out for its engaging arrangements and fresh tones that never grow stale. “Tobiru,” released in advance in May, is a live track wishing for the band’s success, and the ambient track “Living in the Moment”—which begins with the same guitar arpeggios used in “zzz,” a soothing instrumental that feels like a live sound effect—exudes a strength reminiscent of Leila’s sharp, gleaming gaze as she continues to face whatever lies ahead.
