Their ninth studio album in four years, "Ghost Town" is an album that goes beyond the genres of neoclassical metal, power metal, and melodic metal. The album is built around a balance of classic and melodic metal while introducing elements that are progressive, modern, heavy, and different. Original member, guitarist and producer CJ Grimmark is a key figure in the band's sound and, along with singer Christian Lillegren and bassist Jonathan "Jono" Samuelsson, is the source of the band's well-crafted lyrics and melodies that make up the excellent songs. The band is a group of musicians who have been working together for over 20 years.The neoclassical opener "Rebel" appeals to longtime fans, while straight-forward songs like "Hold On," "Wake Up Call," and "Alive" will delight listeners. The progressive "Descension" finds a clear common thread that ties the whole together. Out Of The Silence" features Saviour Machine frontman Eric Clayton reading from a baritone opera. Glory Daze," perhaps the heaviest song on the album, is about Christian's own experience with "burnout." The entire album covers a variety of topics, and the new album contains elements that rock fans can relate to, both musically and spiritually. It's an album that combines solid rock with a positive message.
