Description:
Evgeny Gunst is a little-known Russian composer whose piano works (OC899), whose scores were discovered in the basement of a seminar room at the University of Basel in 2010, have attracted much attention as they reveal a unique personality similar to that of Scriabin. This collection includes a few of his violin works, and is full of interesting pieces with a Parisian atmosphere, which he reached at the end of his life. It would be interesting to compare the pieces with Debussy's famous pieces recorded at the same time. The performance is by Suzanne Lang on piano, as in the previous album, and she describes her passion for this composer. The violin is played by Denisova, a veteran student of Oleg Kagan and Valery Kimov (a pupil of Oistrakh). Naxos Japan
