This is an album of entertainment of the upper class in London in the late 17th century and early 18th century. This album features the works of Nicola Matteis (?-after 1714), a native of Italy who gained fame in London for his advanced violin technique and Italian music. Performed by the Austrian Baroque Company (ABC), a baroque ensemble founded in 2001 by Austrian baroque recorder player and director Michael Oman.
