Rademann & Gechinger Kantorai Finally Record "The Creation"! Hans-Christoph Rademann and Gechinger Kantorai, who have established themselves as choral conductors, present Haydn's "The Creation". Inspired by Handel's "Messiah" and other great works during his two stays in England in his later years, "The Creation" is considered Haydn's greatest oratorio in terms of both scale and content. Taking "Genesis" and "Psalms" from the Old Testament and Milton's "Paradise Lost" as its subject matter, the work depicts the seven days of creation in three parts, from the first to the fourth day of creation by God, the fifth and sixth days when creatures appear, and the appearance of Adam and Eve, in chronological order. The work is particularly popular in Europe and the United States because of its straightforwardly Christian worldview, the appeal of the animals, which are depicted in an easy-to-understand, painterly manner, and the orchestra and chorus that play an active role throughout the work. Gechinger Kantorai, led by Hans-Christoph Rademann, has recorded a succession of major religious works, including Handel's "Messiah" in 2019 and J.S. Bach's "Matthew Passion" in 2020, and has given us an impressive performance, so expectations are high for "The Creation" as well. The soloist is Kyrgyz soprano Katharina Konradi, a native of the Kyrgyz Republic. Tenor Julian Habermann, who is active in Germany and elsewhere in Europe, will be the soloist.With a full lineup of singers, including current bass singer Tobias Berndt, who was a boy soprano in the Dresden Holy Cross Choir, this is a recording not to be missed.
