Bruckner's Missa Solemnis in a new edition revised by Benjamin-Gunnar Kohls performed by the spirited conductor Ukas Borovici RIAS Chamber Choir and the Berlin Academy of Ancient Music at a concert at the Berlin Konzerthaus on June 25, 2017! A new page in history will be added. Performed by the RIAS Chamber Choir, the Berlin Academy of Ancient Music, and Polish conductor Wukasz Borowicz. Bruckner's "Missa solemnis" was written and premiered for the inauguration on September 14, 1854 of Friedrich Meyer, who was chosen to succeed St. Florian Abbot Arnate after his death on March 24, 1854.There are anecdotes that Bruckner was angry because he was not invited to the inauguration ceremony that day, etc. Borovich found a description of the performance that day, which was performed with three pieces by Robert Führer, Josef Eibler, and Johann Baptiste Gensbacher, and the International With the cooperation of the Bruckner Society and the German musicologist Benjamin-Gunnar Kohls, a new edition was made for this concert with the RIAS Chamber Choir. The concert was given in the order in which the pieces were performed at the time, and the performance on this disc is the first recording of this edition. The soloist is Johanna Winkel, who played the role of Gerhilde in Thielemann's "Die Walkure" at the 2017 Salzburg Easter Festival. Mezzo-soprano Sophie Harmsen is a mezzo-soprano of the moment who has been touring the world's theaters as a Mozart singer. Tenor Sebastian Kohlhepp, who specializes in baroque music. And Ludwig Mittelhammer, a boy soprano in the Tölz Boys Choir and currently a baritone in a wide range of operas and recitals in 2018.
