Description:
Hans-Christoph Rademann's Last Concert with the Berlin Academy of Ancient Music & RIAS Chamber Choir Mendelssohn's "Elijah" Mendelssohn's masterpiece oratorio "Elijah". The work depicts the life of Elijah, a prophet in the Old Testament. Mendelssohn wrote three oratorios, "Elijah," "Paul," and "Christ (Unfinished)," of which this "Elijah" has a strong following as a work that shows his personality at its best. The elaborate structure and beautiful melody, in which Mendelssohn's compositional techniques are condensed, unfold a magnificent story. Performed by the RIAS Chamber Choir led by Hans-Christoph Rademann and the Berlin Academy of Ancient Music. Hans-Christoph Rademann had been the principal conductor of the RIAS Chamber Choir since 2007, but left the position in July 2015, and this "Elijah" was his last concert as principal conductor. The chorus is not only magnificent, exuding dignity and dignity in its solemnity, but the propulsive performance captures the dramatic aspect of the Berlin Academy of Ancient Music, leading to a finale of rapture and bliss. The superb ensemble of soloists, including Maris Petersen, is also very attractive.
