Born in Innsbruck, Eva Lindt studied philosophy at the University of Vienna while pursuing a career in vocal music. At the age of 19, she made a sensational debut at the Vienna State Opera, singing the role of the Queen of the Night. She subsequently sang the role of Lucia in *Lucia di Lammermoor* in Basel, and building on the success of these two performances, she began performing at opera houses around the world. Her crystal-clear voice and gentle delivery are beloved by many, and she has long enjoyed great popularity with Viennese music such as *The Voice of Spring*. On this album, she performs a selection of French art songs. She masterfully conveys the delicate emotions present in the works of four composers: Fauré, Debussy, Satie, and Massenet. Above all, her beautiful voice is truly the very “jewel” she wears in the album cover photograph. A portion of the proceeds from this album will be donated to the “José Carreras International Leukemia Foundation,” founded by José Carreras. Naxos Japan
