The Feininger Trio's Brahms Cycle Volume 2! This is a new recording by the Pfininger Trio, formed in 2005 by Christoph Stroili and David Liniker of the Berlin Philharmonic and Swiss pianist Adrian Oetiker. They have released albums focusing on Bohemia, France, and Russia, and this album is the second volume of their Brahms cycle, following last year's release of Brahms' Piano Trio No. 3 and Zemlinsky's Piano Trio (8553489). The coupling is the Korngold Trio. Korngold's Op. 1 was chosen as the coupling piece. Korngold, who had produced many works from an early age, gave it a work number and published it for the first time. The Piano Trio is a surprisingly large work with a mature style and character already established, even though it was written by a boy who was only 12 years old. Tokyo M-Plus
