Description:
This is a concept album on the theme of "the sea" by soprano Sarah Wegener, whose rich and warm voice has been acclaimed by the international media for its ability to move the listener's heart. The idea for this album was born from the idea that "what the forest symbolizes to the Germans is equivalent to what the sea means to the English. The album title is taken from Brahms' "Love's Truth" (in die tiefe See!), and by collecting works by composers who were born near the northern sea and whose poetry is associated with the sea, we have created a unified program. The sea often symbolizes the macabre and the dramatic, as, for example, in Theodore Sturm's (1817-1888) most famous novel, The Rider on the White Horse. The sea is also a symbol of solitude and a reminder of the dangers encountered during a voyage. Like the forest, the sea is a topos of literary longing.Tokyo M-Plus
