One of C'Avi-music's classic series of live recordings of the Spanungen Music Festival. The Spanungen Music Festival, for which the renowned German pianist Lars Forkt serves as artistic director, is a chamber music festival held every June in Heimbach in western Germany, and has gained popularity with the participation of such splendid artists as the Tetzlaff siblings and Antje Weidhaas. In Dvorak's "Dumky," Lars Forkt's beautiful tone, coupled with Christian Tetzlaff's lyrical violin, makes this album a must-hear. Alyssa Margulis, Aaron Pilzan, and Marie-Elisabeth Hecker give a youthful and thrilling performance of Shostakovich, which is also well worth listening to. Tokyo M-Plus
