Luxembourg-born Kathy Krier, who was named an ECHO (European Concert Hall Association) Rising Star for the 2015/2016 season, performs works by Rameau, Schubert, Ravel, and Berg, as well as works composed for her by the contemporary German composer Wolfgang Rihm. Her latest release on the C'Avi label is the 18-piece "Exercises for Piano," composed by Gerge Ligeti (1923-2006) over a period of more than 17 years. It is no exaggeration to say that it is the most important piano etude of the 20th century, a masterpiece created by Ligeti's astonishingly rich inspiration. Tokyo M-Plus
