He studied mathematics and physics from 1969 to 1972, and musicology, art history, and philosophy from 1973 onward, earning a doctorate for his dissertation on Luigi Nono and Hans Werner Henze.Since 1976 he has studied composition with Klaus Huber, Brian Ferneyhough, and Paul-Heinz Dietrich, regularly publishes articles on new music, and is also working on a book project. Internationally active pianist Kaya Han (Kaya Han) was born and raised in Japan by Korean parents and won prizes at various piano competitions in Japan and Europe from an early age. A graduate of the Toho Gakuen School of Music and the Freiburg University of Music, she was active in Europe, East Asia, and Canada, and since 1999 has been a professor at the Karlsruhe College of Music. 2021, she died of illness at the age of 63. This album was originally recorded in studio by the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation (BR) in 1997, and with the exception of "Piano Pieces No. 3 "Passacaglia Brevis," the four works on this album were recorded for the first time in the world.
