This recording features a variety of instrumental combinations—soprano, oboe, horn, and organ—that vary depending on the piece. The singing of soprano Sybilla Rubens, who has previously performed with Herreweghe, is particularly outstanding; her beautifully resonant voice lends an even more mystical quality to the music.
