Description:
The second collection of piano transcriptions of famous orchestral music by pianist François-Xavier Poissat, born in Grenoble, France in 1989. Poissat studied piano at the Geneva Conservatory, the Hamburg University of Music and Drama, the Juilliard School, and the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, and has studied with Alexei Golovin and Evgeny Korolyov. Martha Argerich was also a major influence on his development, inviting the 12-year-old to Japan's Pacific Music Festival. There, Pojza was described as "a young pianist of deep lyricism and astonishing virtuosity," and he began to attract international attention. While the piano does not necessarily surpass the orchestra in terms of tonal diversity, it does allow the pianist to express himself with greater unity and flexibility. This time, Powaza combines arrangements of mainly Russian works, some by composers born in the 19th century and some by contemporary composers, and successfully tests the limits of the piano's color with his own technique.Most of the pieces are well-known, such as "Moldau" and "La Valse," so this is one piece that can be widely recommended to classical music fans.
