Born in Zaporizha, Ukraine, pianist Violina Petrichenko studied at the National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music in Ukraine, then in Germany at the Franz Liszt School of Music in Weimar and the Cologne College of Music with Jacob Leuschner. He also studied under Evgeny Sinaysky at the Folkwang University of Music in Essen, Germany, and is an instructor at the Cologne University of Music. Petrichenko is particularly interested in featuring works by Ukrainian composers, and this album includes works by Viktor Kosenko, which are rarely performed. Tokyo M-Plus
