A collection of songs by Korean composer Young-Jo Lee (1943-). Young-Jo Lee was born in Seoul. He studied in Munich, where he studied with Carl Orff. He is highly acclaimed for his Western music based on Korean folk songs. Except for two pieces he wrote before his study in Munich, the pieces in this collection are relatively recent. Hwang Jin-yi" is an opera about Hwang Jin-yi, a Korean prostitute in the Joseon Dynasty, which has been frequently made into movies and TV programs. Lee Yura-Hoff is a soprano born in Seoul. She studied in Berlin and Leipzig, and as of 2018 is based in Dresden, Germany. She is a soprano with a beautiful voice with well-developed high notes. Tobu Land Systems
