The 15th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2017 (held from May 25 to June 10, 2017) will be held once every four years, and the winner is Sonu Ye-gon, a rising star born in South Korea in 1989. Sonu Ye-gon won the first prize! He is the first Korean to win this competition! He studied at the Curtis Institute of Music and the Juilliard School, and at the Mannes School of Music under Richard Goode. His calm, steady, precise, and careful playing draws the audience in with a rich variety of performances, including Beethoven with a gentle touch and "La Campanella" with a sharp technique. This album is a live recording of a recital in Germany in 2016.
