This is an album of solo piano pieces, orchestral arrangements for piano duo, and original works written for piano duo. The duo previously released Brahms' works for piano duo (GEN11197). The duo formed while studying at the Lviv Conservatory of Music in Ukraine, and have won top prizes in numerous competitions. Stravinsky's Three Chapters from Petrushka and Ravel's Morning Song of a Clown have already been completed as solo piano pieces, but the duo version is more complex with more sounds. Chasins' Carmen Fantasy is a masterful arrangement, no less than Sarasate's. Lutoslawski's Paganini Variations is a modern piano duo classic, a freewheeling variation on Paganini's familiar caprice theme. Tobu Land System
